Sensei Sugimura Memorial Gasshuku

The 2022 Sensei Sugimura Memorial Gasshuku marked my first intensive training camp in karate and it was nothing short of a memorable and inspiring experience. While the training provided by both local and esteemed Japanese senseis is hard to top, the highlight of the Gasshuku for me was being able to bond with members of the Karatekai Basel team who have made me feel at home in Switzerland since I arrived. After having stopped karate for many years, it has been a pleasure training with such a motivated and kind group and being reminded of my love for the sport.
